NEW DELHI: In a rain-affected second women's T20 International in Sylhet, Bangladesh,
Radha Yadav and Dayalan Hemalatha showcased an all-round performance, guiding India to a commanding 19-run victory over Bangladesh under the Duckworth/Lewis method.
Choosing to bat first, Bangladesh faced a daunting challenge against the Indian bowlers. Led by Radha Yadav's exceptional bowling, the hosts were restricted to a total of 119 runs.
Radha claimed figures of 3/19, with support from
Deepti Sharma (2/14) and Shreyanka Patil (2/24). Murshida Khatun was the top-scorer for Bangladesh with 46 runs.
In response, India started their chase but lost an early wicket with Shafali Verma departing for a duck. However, Dayalan Hemalatha's aggressive innings of 41 runs off 24 balls propelled India to 47/1 in 5.2 overs before rain intervened for the second time.
With India comfortably ahead by 19 runs according to the Duckworth/Lewis method and the pitch deemed unplayable due to heavy rain, India was declared the winner, taking a 2-0 lead in the five-match series.
Earlier in the match, Bangladesh's innings saw some resistance initially, with Dilara Akter and Murshida Khatun contributing with the bat. However, Indian bowlers maintained pressure, with Deepti Sharma and Radha Yadav picking up crucial wickets.
Radha Yadav's double-strike, including the dismissal of Bangladesh captain Nigar Sultana and Fahima Khatun in consecutive deliveries, was a highlight of India's bowling effort.
