Deodhar Trophy: Central Zone beat North East Zone by eight wickets

NEW DELHI: Central Zone showcased a commanding performance in a round-robin match of the Deodhar Trophy in Puducherry on a Sunday, defeating North East Zone by eight wickets.
Winning the toss, Central Zone opted to field first, and their spinners delivered an exceptional performance, limiting North East Zone to a total of 164 runs in 49 overs.
In the chase, Central Zone's batting duo of Shivam Chaudhary and Yash Dubey displayed remarkable form, propelling their team to victory.They formed an impressive 153-run partnership for the second wicket.
Shivam Chaudhary's brilliant knock of 85 runs came off 90 balls, comprising seven boundaries and two sixes. On the other hand, Yash Dubey's innings of 72 runs was equally impressive, as he struck seven fours and one six during his 91-ball stay at the crease.

Their outstanding batting performance ensured that Central Zone reached the target comfortably, completing the chase in just 33 overs, securing a well-deserved victory in the match.
With the win, Central Zone claimed their first win in four games to be at the fourth spot in the six-team tournament, while North Zone are in fifth position with one win and two losses.
Sent in to bat, North Zone couldn't get any momentum and were reduced to 17 for two in 6 overs.
The dpin trio of Aditya Sarwate (3/19), Saransh Jain (2/39), Yash Kothari (2/4) and Karn Sharma (1/34) strangled the batters, sharing eight wickets among them.
Shivam Mavi (1/19) and Yash Thakur (1/15) were the other wicket takers.
For North Zone, Kamsha Yangfo (35), Ashish Thapa (31), Rex Singh (27) and L Keishangbam (24) scored the bulk of runs.
