In his mail, Chawla mentioned that the decision was taken in view of ‘wholly irresponsible and illegal activities of the secretary.' The details of the irregularities were not mentioned in the mail.

The development means that

Rohan Jaitley

, son of former finance minister and DDCA president Arun Jaitley, will have to wait for his time to take charge as the DDCA president.

TOI has learnt that DDCA general secretary Vinod Tihara issued a notice to change the agenda of a general body meeting which was passed by the ombudsman. It is learnt that the agenda of suspending the membership of DDCA joint secretary Rajan Manchanda was removed by Tihara. The association has been fighting corruption charges. “Senior DDCA members are getting together and will talk to ombudsman about the issue. It's imperative that Rohan doesn't have acquaintance with people who have criminal records against them. DDCA needs clean image,” a senior DDCA official told TOI.
