In an email (TOI has a copy) to

Patil

and members of the Cricket Improvement Committee four days ago,

Pawar

has written: "Respected sir, I'm writing this email to you to register a complaint against the selection committee chairman Salil Ankola for using abusive and unprofessional language against me."

Explaining exactly what happened between him and

Ankola

, Pawar wrote: The incident took place after we lost the final match of the Talyarkhan Tournament on 26th February, 2022. Ankola called through whatsapp and started abusing me. I felt he was very unprofessional over the phone call. Somehow, I feel this was not the right way of reacting to a situation. The team had played well throughout the tournament and losing a match, that too the final, doesn't make any team or coach look bad."

A former left-arm spinner, Pawar played 84 first-class games, in which he took 281 wickets@30. 07, for Mumbai and Baroda. The 42-year-old further wrote, "As the coach of the Mumbai Under-25 team, I expect a respectful attitude towards me and my position. I hope that something will be done to stop this unprofessional and unethical attitude towards colleagues. Thanking you in anticipation."

Pawar is currently with the Mumbai U-25 team in Pondicherry for the Col CK Nayudu Trophy (for U-25).

"Nothing like this happened. This is all rubbish. We're doing well i n the BCCI U-25 tournament, having won our first game by an innings (against Manipur). Our senior team has also qualified for the Ranji Trophy knockouts after two seasons. We are concentrating on that, and not on this rubbish," Ankola told this paper.
