Chaitanya bags eight; Ibrahim only batsman to get a century

HYDERABAD: On a day when bowlers called the shots, Sri Shyam's Md Ibrahim was the only batsman to score a century but his effort with the willow was overshadowed by Neel Chakravarthy who bowled Zinda Tilismath to a 162-run win in the HCA's A-2 Division (2-day) League Championship, on Friday.
Chasing Zinda's 383, Shyam were kept in the contention by Ibrahim who scored a 173-ball 120 with 14 fours and two sixes.However, none of the other batsmen contributed to the cause and Shyam were bowled out for 221. Neel finished with five for 103.
Leading the bowlers' parade was Team Speed's Venkata Chaitanya, who bowled his side to a comprehensive 330-run win over Secunderabad Nawabs. Team Speed had ran up a formidable 409 for eight and the Nawabs wilted under the pressure of chasing a huge score. They were bowled out for a lowly 79 as Chaitanya ran amok. He finished with figures of eight for 24.
S Nikhil scalped six for 61 as Concorde posted a 147-run win over Manchester.
Aditya Chib bagged six for 71 as he helped Hyderabad Blues score a 13-run win over Nizamabad District. After restricting the Blues to a modest 204, the Nizamabad's reply was led by Vamshi Krishna. However, the fall of Vamshi for 94 changed the equations and Nizamabad were bowled out for 191.
N Rakesh Goud's five for 25 helped Adilabad District thrash Crown by 210 runs. Replying to Adilabad's 303, Crown were bundled out for 93.
A Dheeraj Vishal steered Rakesh XI to a 217-run win over Cheerful Chums with a five for 30 haul.
