In a stellar performance, skipper Moises Henriques (59) partnered with opener Daniel Hughes (42) to form a crucial 94-run alliance, propelling the Sixers to a total of 152-8 in 20 overs after opting to bat.

Wicketkeeper Jimmy Peirson was the leading run-scorer for the Heat with 26, but the team faced a setback, slumping to 113 all out in 17.5 overs due to an exceptional and destructive bowling spell by seamer Ben Dwarshuis, who claimed 5-21.

The winners of Saturday's inaugural knockout match between Perth Scorchers and Adelaide Strikers will compete against the Heat on Monday for a chance to advance to the final against the Sixers.

The final will be played on Wednesday (January 24) at the iconic Sydney Cricket Ground, which is also the home ground of the Sixers.
