MUMBAI: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Wednesday invited on its website applications for the post of bowling and fielding coaches of the Indian women's team.
The deadline to submit the applications is by 6pm on August 10. The shortlisted candidates will be picked after an interview by the BCCI's Cricket Advisory Committee, which comprises Ashok Malhotra, Sulakshana Naik and Jatin Paranjape.
TOI had reported in its July 26 edition that domestic stalwart Amol Muzumdar is likely to become the batting coach of the Indian women's team for the Asian Games in Hangzhou, China in September-October.
On July 7, after an Apex Council meeting here, BCCI secretary Jay Shah had said that even though "the CAC had recommended a name for the post of head coach of the Indian women's team, the Board will conduct interviews for the post of batting, bowling and fielding coaches of the India women's team, and then announce the names of the entire support staff of the side, before the Asian Games in September."
The Indian women's team has not had full-time support staff, including a head coach, since December last year after Ramesh Powar's (head coach) exit. Nooshin Al Khadeer was the interim coach of the side for the recently-held Bangladesh tour, while Australia's Troy Cooley was the bowling coach of the team for the T20 World Cup in February.
BCCI releases tender for Title Sponsorship after Mastercard exitMeanwhile, the BCCI, after finalising the jersey and Team India sponsor, is on the lookout for a title sponsor after Mastercard's exit. On Tuesday, the Board released its title sponsorship tender on its website. Mastercard had taken over from PayTM after the fin-tech company exited the deal. In September last year, Mastercard replaced PayTM as the title sponsor for the remaining period of the deal.
The last date to purchase the Invitation to Tender (ITT) document is August 21.
