Bangladesh secured a commanding eight-wicket victory over the Netherlands in the opening T20 international match in Sylhet on Saturday, with Taskin Ahmed delivering an outstanding performance.
Taskin Ahmed's impressive bowling figures of 4-28 helped Bangladesh restrict the Netherlands to 136-8. The Bangladesh batting lineup successfully chased down the target in just 13.3 overs.
Bangladesh captain Litton Das remained unbeaten with 54 runs, while Saif Hassan contributed 36 not out to guide their team to victory.

The Netherlands team, despite securing their spot in next year's T20 World Cup in India and Sri Lanka, played without key players. Bas de Leede was sidelined due to injury, while Roelof van der Merwe and Logan van Beek were also absent.
The Dutch innings saw Max O'Dowd score 23 runs and Teja Nidamanuru leading with 26 runs. However, they struggled to maintain partnerships after being asked to bat first.
Taskin claimed wickets in his first two overs, while off-spinner Saif picked up two wickets in one over, including Scott Edwards' dismissal for 12 runs.
Bangladesh lost an early wicket in their chase, but Litton Das and Tanzid Hasan's 66-run partnership, with Tanzid scoring 29, steadied the innings.
The teams will meet again for the second T20 match on Monday at the same venue.
