The distinguished collection in the Long Room already includes bats from cricket greats such as Don Bradman, David Boon, Jack Hobbs, and Brian Lara.

The MCG management specifically requested Babar to donate the bat he used during Pakistan's T20 World Cup 2022 final match against England, and he agreed to their request.

Babar reflected on this recognition and discussed his special relationship with the MCG.

"Honored to have my bat among legends at the @MCG Long Room," Babar wrote on social media platform 'X'.
