Ashes: Ex-India batter uses Shah Rukh Khan–inspired meme to mock Michael Vaughan after England’s 1st Test defeat to Australia

Wasim Jaffer has once again taken the opportunity to mock Michael Vaughan following England's recent defeat in Perth.

The dynamic between Wasim Jaffer and Michael Vaughan has remained constant over the past 5-6 years of Test cricket, despite numerous changes in the sport. The two former players regularly exchange banter whenever possible.


Following England's defeat within two days of the first Test match, Jaffer took to social media to tease Vaughan, who was on commentary duty, witnessing his team's performance in Perth.

Jaffer used his X account to post "Hope you're okay," tagging Vaughan and including a meme featuring Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol from the movie Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham.



The exchanges between Jaffer and Vaughan have been ongoing for years, with Jaffer often gaining the upper hand due to India and Australia's recent successes against England in Test cricket.

England's performance in Perth took an unexpected turn on Day 2. Despite being in a strong position, they struggled due to their aggressive Bazball approach.

The English team's situation deteriorated rapidly. Starting with a 99-run lead and only one wicket down, they managed to score just 204 runs in their second innings.

The conditions became more favorable for batting, but England's bowlers had limited rest. Their five-man seam attack faced difficulty against Travis Head, who was promoted in the batting order.

Head, batting as opener, achieved a world record by scoring a century in just 69 deliveries. Along with Marnus Labuschagne's quick 51 not out, Australia secured a comfortable victory.

Australia now leads the series 1-0. England supporters, who were initially confident, are facing disappointment after this significant defeat.

With considerable time before the Brisbane Test match, England faces continued criticism for their performance.
