NAGPUR: Aniruddha Choudhari showcased a clinical batting display for his century while skipper Mandar Mahale took 4 crucial wickets to guide Vidarbha to a 48-run win against Chhattisgarh in Rajkot on Thursday.
It was a consolation win for Vidarbha as all their chances of qualifying for under-25 state-A trophy knockouts were over before this match started. Vidarbha scored 254 and restricted Chhattisgarh to 206.
Batting first, Aniruddha (105; 124b, 13x4) batted with responsibility as other batters got out at regular intervals. The entire middle-order looked good for the initial phase of their individual innings but could not extend their stay.
The right-hander Aniruddha, who scored 105, got out when the score was 207. After the centurion’s exit, Vidarbha had 6 wickets and 47 balls left for the late punch. However, they lost all the wickets adding just 47 runs, getting all out for 254 in 49.1 overs.
Later, Vidarbha spinners skipper Mandar (4-62), Harsh Dubey (1-29), Yash Kadam (2-40) and Aditya Khilote (2-30) did well to bowl the opposition out for 206 in 47.3 overs.
