MUMBAI: The Mumbai Cricket Association will bring
Amol Kale's mortal remains to the Wankhede Stadium on Wednesday for the association's members and friends to offer their final respects to the MCA president, who passed away in New York on Monday.
"The mortal remains of the Mumbai Cricket Association president, Late Mr Amol Kale, who passed away in New York, will be brought down to the Wankhede Stadium on Wednesday, 12th June 2024 for members and friends to offer their final respects," the MCA informed in a statement on Tuesday.
Kale's mortal remains will be kept at the MCA Lounge between 1-2pm.
Kale passed away on Monday due to a cardiac arrest on Monday in New York, where he had gone to watch the India versus Pakistan match of the 2024 T20 World Cup on Sunday.
Meanwhile, paying tribute to Kale, the legendary Sachin Tendulkar posted on X: "Shocked to hear about the untimely demise of MCA President Shri Amol Kale. Condolences to his family and close ones as they find the strength to overcome this sudden loss."
Expressing his grief, BCCI secretary
Jay Shah posted, "Deeply saddened to hear about the sudden demise of MCA President Amol Kale. His dedication to Mumbai cricket was exemplary. Deepest condolences to his family and friends during this difficult time."
Kale's mortal remains will be kept at his residence (Wilnomona, 62-B, Nargis Dutt Road, Pali Hill, Bandra West, Mumbai-400050) for Antim Darshan between 4 to 5 pm. The funeral procession will start at 5 pm and cremation will take place at Santacruz Hindu Crematorium, Linking Road Junction, Dattatray Road, Diagonally opposite Savoy Chamber, Linking Rd, Khar, Shastri Nagar, Khar West, Mumbai.
