MUMBAI: Former all-rounder Amit Dani has been named as assistant coach of the Mumbai senior cricket team. The 45-year-old Dani played 18 First Class games, in which he took 41 wickets and scored 664 runs, for Mumbai and Goa. He was the fielding coach of Mumbai in the 2014-15 season.
He was the bowling and fielding coach of the Mumbai under-23 side for the next two seasons. Dani will, in fact, reunite with Mumbai's new coach Vinayak Samant - the duo had guided the Mumbai Under-23 side in the 2015-16 season, when the team had clinched the CK Nayudu Trophy.
Kawle named U-16 coachMeanwhile, Sandesh Kawle is the new Mumbai under-16 coach after former opener Vinayak Mane quit the post earlier this month. "Kawle was Mumbai's U-14 coach last season and wanted to be upgraded," said a source.
