TOI has learnt that Bihar would host its first BCCI-recognised game since 1997, when Jharkhand plays a combined team from the Northeast at Patna's

Moin-ul-Haq

stadium from December 5-8 in a

Cooch Behar Trophy

match.

The last game held in the state under the aegis of the BCCI was a Ranji match between Bihar and Baroda 19 years back. In fact, this will be the first Cooch Behar match in Bihar since 1974.

The

Bihar Cricket Association

(BCA) secretary

Mrityunjay Tiwary

is now hopeful that Bihar will get to play in the Ranji Trophy next season.
