MUMBAI: With outdoor cricket not possible at this time of the year in the city due to the monsoons, the Mumbai Cricket Association has decided that 26 Mumbai players-all the senior team probables and some from the under-23 side-will prepare for the season by undergoing a two-week camp at a state-of the-art residential academy in Alur, near Bangalore, for two weeks (from July 16-30).

The decision was taken at a meeting at BKC on Wednesday between MCA secretary Ajinkya Naik and Mumbai's senior selection committee, led by former India pacer Raju Kulkarni. The arrangement has been faciliated by veteran journalist Makarand Waingankar, who is currently the consultant to the Karnataka State Cricket Association.

"It's a superb facility with swimming pool, gym and three cricket grounds," a source said.
