Woakes followed it up with the prized scalp of Kane Williamson. England's relentless attack continued as Brydon Carse took a sharp return catch to dismiss skipper Tom Latham, leaving New Zealand reeling and followed it by nicking Rachin Ravindra off just as the drizzle arrived. Daryl Mitchell has shown some positive intent and that is the way to go on this wicket where the ball is seaming around just enough to keep the batters on their toes. New Zealand face an uphill battle with four wickets already lost. Can England continue their charge and get the remaining six wickets in the next session itself, or will New Zealand’s middle order resist? Daryl Mitchell pulls away as raindrops begin to interfere, seemingly getting into his eyes. The drizzle has picked up and the umpires have had enough. The players go off and with this, it will be LUNCH on Day 3. England dominated the session and they head into the break firmly on top of the Test match. England declared their innings at 427/6, setting New Zealand a daunting target of 583 runs.
