At the toss, Tom Latham confirmed the changes, saying, "Mitch Santner has got a little bit of a side strain. Ish Sodhi comes in. Matt Henry is fit and he comes in for Tim Southee," said the Black Caps.
In Pune, Santner was seen struggling with his side while bowling, but he continued to take six wickets in the second innings, leading New Zealand to a 113-run victory.
India also made a change, with Jasprit Bumrah sitting out with a viral illness and bringing Mohammed Siraj into the lineup.
