Despite winning the toss and electing to bat first, MI New York's performance fell significantly short of expectations. The early loss of Monank set a negative tone, and although Pooran came in with an aggressive mindset, he was ultimately dismissed by Jack Edwards. With only Kunwarjeet stepping up to make any substantial runs, the team's total was a mere 112 in 18 overs. On the other hand, Maxwell emerged as the star for Freedom, capturing three wickets and coming tantalizingly close to a hat-trick.
