MLC 2025: Texas Super Kings win third straight match; pack off Seattle Orcas for just 60 runs
Texas Super Kings secured their third consecutive victory in Major League Cricket (MLC) 2025 by defeating Seattle Orcas by 93 runs on Monday (June 16). The Orcas were bowled out for just 60 runs in under 14 overs while chasing a target of 154, with Zia-ul-Haq and Nandre Burger leading the bowling attack for Texas Super Kings.
The Super Kings' bowling performance began with a devastating powerplay spell from Zia-ul-Haq and Nandre Burger, who reduced Seattle Orcas to 21 for 5 within the first five overs. The new ball movement created significant problems for the Orcas batsmen, resulting in regular wickets.

The introduction of spin further compounded Seattle's problems. Noor Ahmad claimed two quick wickets, dismissing Sujit Nayak and Harmeet Singh lbw, leaving the Orcas reeling at 27 for 7.
Aaron Jones and Jasdeep Singh provided brief resistance as the only Orcas batsmen to reach double figures. They constructed an 18-run partnership, with Jones hitting two sixes, including one off Daryl Mitchell and another off Noor Ahmad over long-off.
The partnership ended when Jones attempted to pull a short delivery from Stoinis, resulting in a top edge to short third. The final wicket partnership between Jasdeep Singh and Waqar Salamkheil added seven runs from 17 deliveries before Burger claimed the last wicket.
Earlier in the match, Texas Super Kings faced their own batting challenges on a difficult pitch. Faf du Plessis and Devon Conway departed during the powerplay after struggling at the crease.
The Super Kings' innings gained stability through a 48-run partnership between Saiteja Mukkamalla and Daryl Mitchell. Mukkamalla contributed by hitting two sixes against Sikandar Raza and Salamkheil.
Marcus Stoinis provided crucial momentum to the innings with an aggressive 12-ball cameo featuring four sixes. The final push came from Milind Kumar and Shubham Ranjane, who scored two sixes and a boundary in the last over, helping Texas Super Kings reach 153/6 in their 20 overs.
Brief Scores: Texas Super Kings 153/6 in 20 overs (Saiteja Mukkamalla 30, Marcus Stoinis 28; Harmeet Singh 2-24, Jasdeep Singh 2-34) beat Seattle Orcas 60 in 13.5 overs (Aaron Jones 17, Jasdeep Singh 12; Nandre Burger 3-10, Zia ul Haq 3-16) by 93 runs
