NEW DELHI: The spotlight is shining brightly on Nitish Kumar Reddy, the 20-year-old cricketer who recently made headlines by scoring his maiden fifty in T20 cricket. Representing Sunrisers Hyderabad, Nitish showcased his talent with a blistering knock of 64 runs off just 37 balls, which included five powerful sixes against Punjab Kings in Mullanpur on Tuesday.

Originally hailing from Andhra Pradesh, Nitish has been making waves in domestic cricket while playing for his state team. Despite his young age, he has already demonstrated his prowess on the field.
Prior to his standout performance in the IPL, Nitish had only featured in eight T20 matches, including two IPL appearances in 2023 where he didn't have a chance to bat.
During the IPL 2023 auction, Nitish was acquired by Sunrisers for his base price of Rs 20 lakh, a testament to his potential and talent. His impressive track record includes scoring 366 runs in seven matches during the Ranji Trophy for Andhra, which includes a century and a fifty.
Having represented India B at the U19 level, Nitish boasts considerable experience despite his young age. He has played 17 first-class matches, accumulating 566 runs, and has also participated in 22 List A games, where he has scored 403 runs at an impressive average of 36.63.
