NEW DELHI: After over two weeks of rigorous training, players of different IPL franchises are now looking set to return to on-field action. With the starting date of the first match of the IPL drawing closer, franchises after their net sessions are also looking to compete in practice matches to get a feel of match situations.
On Monday and Tuesday, the
Chennai Super Kings and
Kings XI Punjab
players took part in intra-squad matches where most of them looked in sublime touch.

MS Dhoni (CSK),
KL Rahul and Chris Gayle(KXIP) looked as comfortable as ever, smacking the ball to all corners of the ground during their matches. Also spotted batting were the likes of Shane Watson and Ravindra Jadeja among others. Jadeja also turned his arm over and bowled a few overs.
Dhoni was also seen keeping behind the stumps.

Both the franchises also posted videos of the players in action under lights in Dubai.
KL Rahul, who will be captaining the Punjab side this season was seen talking to his team during their practice match.

Chennai Super Kings take on defending champions Mumbai Indians in the season opener on September 19 in Abu Dhabi, while Kings XI Punjab play their first match against Delhi Capitals in Dubai on September 20.
The IPL this year is taking place across three venues in the United Arab Emirates.
