Virat Kohli finally got hold of the Indian Premier League trophy after an 18-year-long wait. The 36-year-old put up a valiant display in the final as his side successfully defended a 190 total at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. The No 18 contributed to his side's total with a cautious knock of 43 from 35 deliveries. As RCB clinched victory by six run, Kohli's joy and emotions came to the forefront in the way that he fell to his knees, covered his face and broke down in tears.
The post-match celebrations featured the star man sharing his jubilation with partner Anushka Sharma and afterwards by lifting the trophy in front his supporters. The player later shared an emotional message on his Instagram where he looked back at the season which proved to be the end of his and RCB's title search.

"This night this moment where we celebrate this dream which made us cry which made us laugh but the wait that you did is far too long each and every second of the moment needs to be experienced with stillness and a strange calmness that it’s actually done ������All of us can’t express the humility and thankfulness towards almighty and millions of fans who were right behind RCB through thick and thin this win is everybody’s personal win,", wrote Kohli's sister.
She also expressed that Kohli's father would be smiling from heaven 'at his son making him proud.'
