Rishabh Pant, known for his fearless stroke play and match-winning knocks, is enduring a tough start to his new journey with Lucknow Super Giants in IPL 2025. Tasked with both leading the side and anchoring the middle order, the star wicketkeeper-batter has found himself struggling for form, unable to make a significant impact with the bat.
Bought for a record-breaking Rs 27 crore in the IPL 2025 mega auction, Pant became the most expensive player in the tournament’s history. However, his performances so far have not justified the hefty price tag.

Pant’s struggles began with a duck against Delhi Capitals, followed by a scratchy 15 against SunRisers Hyderabad.
In his latest outing against Punjab Kings, he could only add two runs before being dismissed.
His lack of runs has put additional pressure on Lucknow Super Giants, who were expecting him to be their key match-winner.
With the franchise investing heavily in him, Pant’s poor start has led to criticism and trolling on social media. Fans and experts alike are questioning whether he can rediscover his touch and lead his team effectively.
Punjab Kings won the toss and elected to bowl first against Lucknow Super Giants on Tuesday.
LSG fielded the same eleven.
Lucknow Super Giants captain Rishabh Pant said, “We wanted to bowl first but there are things which are not under our control so happy to bat first. There are a lot of people who have come to support us, we are definitely going to give our best. No changes for us.”
