Bobat, who has been associated with the England and Wales Cricket Board since 2011 and has played a key role in overseeing England's victories in Twenty20 and 50-over World Cups, is set to leave his position in February 2024.

During his tenure, Bobat worked closely with RCB's current coach, Andy Flower, particularly during Flower's time as coach of the England cricket team.

Expressing his excitement about the new role, Bobat stated, "RCB is one of the most recognisable franchises in the world, with a renowned fan base. To serve them will be a huge honour. I'm really looking forward to working closely with Andy Flower, somebody I know well, to take on the baton and deliver the success that RCB craves."

In August, Andy Flower was appointed as the head coach of RCB, replacing Sanjay Bangar after the team secured a sixth-place finish in this year's IPL.
