NEW DELHI: Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) are gearing up for the latest edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) with the return of their skipper, Shreyas Iyer, after a brief injury hiatus. Iyer, who recently missed out on being included in the BCCI's annual retainership, is determined to showcase his value in the upcoming IPL season.
Adding to the team's arsenal, KKR has also welcomed back their former title-winning captain, Gautam Gambhir, as a team mentor. The former Indian opener's vast experience and leadership acumen are expected to bolster KKR's chances in the tournament.
In the initial phase of IPL 2024, Kolkata Knight Riders are slated to play three league matches. They kick off their campaign with a home fixture against Sunrisers Hyderabad on March 23. Following their opening match, KKR will hit the road to face Royal Challengers Bangalore and Delhi Capitals in their subsequent games.
