However, a new season brings with it new hopes and with that they entered the 2018
IPL Auction
with a purse of Rs 49 crore after retaining
Virat Kohli, AB de Villiers and Sarfaraz Khan.
They bought 21 players by spending Rs 48.85 crore and England allrounder Chris Woakes became their most expensive purchase of the two-day auction which cost them Rs 7.4 crore.
