NEW DELHI: Punjab Kings continued their impressive IPL 2025 campaign with a commanding five-wicket victory over Royal Challengers Bengaluru in a rain-shortened 14-over encounter at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium on Friday.
With this result, PBKS now sit comfortably at second with 10 points, while RCB’s woes deepen as they slump to their third loss in seven matches, currently finding themselves at fourth on the IPL 2025 points table.
After being asked to bat first, RCB had a forgettable outing, managing just 95/9 in 14 overs.

Arshdeep Singh, Marco Jansen, Harpreet Brar, and Yuzvendra Chahal all shared the spoils, dismantling the RCB innings with ease.
In response, PBKS chased the target down in just 7.4 overs, with some much-needed contributions from young opener Priyansh Arya (16), the aggressive Prabhsimran Singh (13), and a steady finish by Nehal Wadhera (33).
Even though the chase saw a few hiccups with three wickets falling, the visitors never looked in trouble.

This win boosts Punjab Kings’ net run rate (0.308) and places them firmly in the playoff mix as we approach the halfway mark of the tournament.
For RCB, however, the loss appears to be a hurdle in an otherwise satisfactory season that has seen them do well with both bat and ball, leaving them with a few questions to answer.
As the competition heats up, PBKS will look to carry this momentum forward, while RCB face an uphill task to turn things around from here.
