The Sunrisers Hyderabad took to the pitch against RCB at Ekana Cricket Stadium knowing very well that the result does not impact their season. After the wickets of Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma fell in quick succession, SRH found themselves in a tough spot. However, an impressive innings from Ishan Kishan, who hasn't had an impressive season in this IPL, stood his ground and made sure that SRH put up a strong 231 on the board against RCB, who already have a confirmed playoffs spot.
Kishan wasted no time after coming on to the crease, as he hit boundary after boundary, and nearly came close to a second century this season. His season best of 106* against Rajasthan Royals remains his best score of the 2025 season, although his 94 proved to be the difference between SRH and RCB.

Kohli came close to a half-century, but was dismissed at 43 by Harsh Dubey. His partner Phil Salt continued the chase, but eventually fell at 62. With a big ask of 236, RCB looked up to Mayank Agarwal, Rajat Patidar and Jitesh Sharma, all of whom were dismissed for less than 25 runs.
SRH's impressive bowling ensured that they picked up a win in their penultimate game of what proved to be an underwhelming season. RCB were bowled out for a total of 189, falling short of the demanding target of 231 by a whopping 42 runs. Despite the win, SRH's position in the points table remains unchanged, at 8th. While their points tally changed from 9 to 11, it isn't enough to take them above Kolkata Knight Riders, who have 12 points from 13 matches.
Who's that IPL player?As for Bengaluru, the defeat to SRH puts a massive dent in their hopes of securing a top-two finish. The team's net run rate takes a nosedive, resulting in them dropping down to third. Punjab Kings is now second ahead of RCB. While a win would have taken them above Gujarat Titans to the summit of the IPL standings, the defeat means that now Mumbai Indians too can leapfrog them by winning their upcoming game, pushing them down to the last playoff spot in fourth.
