The Indian Premier League (IPL) is set to conduct its 2025 mega auction in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, on November 24 and 25. This will be the second consecutive year the event is held outside India.

The auction will allow franchises to assemble their squads for the 2025, 2026, and 2027 seasons. A total of 1,574 players have registered for the event, comprising 1,165 Indian players and 409 overseas talents.

Teams can have up to 25 players in their squad, leaving space for 204 hirings at the mega auction. Teams previously revealed their retained players on the deadline day of October 31, with 46 players retained across all ten franchises.

Punjab Kings, having retained only two players and enter the auction with the largest remaining budget at Rs. 110.5 crore. In contrast, Rajasthan Royals have the smallest purse of Rs. 41 crore after retaining six players. Each franchise started with an auction purse of Rs. 120 crore.

Franchises can utilise the Right-to-Match (RTM) option during the auction to buy back players previously associated with their team. Punjab Kings have the highest number of RTM options available at four, while Rajasthan Royals and Kolkata Knight Riders have none.

The auction will occur at the Abady Al Johar Arena, also known as the Benchmark Arena.
