IPL 2025: It's a final and we're going to play it like a final, says Shreyas Iyer

Shreyas Iyer made his and his team's intentions clear at the toss in the IPL 2025 final at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Tuesday. The coin toss favoured the Punjab Kings skipper Iyer who chose to field against Royal Challengers Bengaluru. Both teams, into the final after a long time, are chasing their first IPL trophy.

"Being positive mentally and physically. Crowd here is amazing, just want to cherish (it). Boys (are) in a brilliant mindset. We hope to embrace the occasion. I'm absolutely fine. We're gonna play it like a final. Have envisioned lifting the trophy," said the PBKS skipper Iyer after his tails call came out just that.

Rajat Patidar also admitted he would have bowled if the coin had favoured his side. "We also wanted to bowl. Surface looks hard. Will try to put on a good total. Till now we've played well, it's just another game for us. We'll give it our best. It's a big stage. Everyone's played well till now. Looks a good pitch, flat, mix of red and black soul," said the skipper.



Both sides have decided to go unchanged from their previous fixture with Phil Salt returning to the city in the morning after having going home for the birth of his child.
