AHMEDABAD: Gujarat Titans’ bowling unit faces scrutiny after conceding 465 runs in their last two defeats, whilst their batting has struggled against formidable totals, as acknowledged by Titans’ director of cricket Vikram Solanki.
The lack of penetration of the opening bowlers Mohammad Siraj (4-0-47-0) and Arshad Khan (2-0-42-0) has compelled captain Shubman Gill to utilise Prasidh Krishna during the powerplay, despite his reluctance to do so, given the substantial runs leaked by the new-ball attack.

We must commend CSK for playing a very good game and they were by far the better team as far as we were concerned. In all three facets of the game, we probably weren’t where we needed to be or where we should’ve been. Having said that, the way Prasidh bowled was exceptional.”
The former England cricketer directly addressed the batting concerns, stating, “We must be better. There’s no sort of magic solution. We must be better in all facets of the game. As far as the batting is concerned, we’ve continued to do the work throughout the season and at times, you come up short.”
