NEW DELHI: Royal Challengers Bangalore captain
Faf du Plessis opted to bowl after winning the toss against
Chennai Super Kings in the IPL 2023 match at M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on Monday.
RCB fielded an unchanged team while CSK made one change as they brought in Matheesha Pathirana in place of Sisanda Magala, who is injured.
"I think the nature of pitches will turn, but 180-200 will be a nice target to chase.
It is quite a small ground and the ball travels, the surface is good and a little bit of dew could help," RCB skipper Faf du Plessis said at the toss.
"For some extent, the toss does matter as it gets hard to contain batters later. The dew makes it difficult to know what a good first-innings score is. We don't want to think too far ahead. We need to get a good start and assess things periodically," CSK
MS Dhoni said.
