HYDERABAD:
Jonny Bairstow and
David Warner knocked the winds out of the Royal Challengers Bangalore's sails and even before they had come to bat the war was more or less done and dusted. However, one expected the visitors to put up a fight but that did not happen. The Virat Kohli-led side caved in meekly to be bowled out for 113.
The only man who managed to stand up to the Sunrisers Hyderabad bowlers was
Colin de Grandhomme.
Thanks to his 37, RCB managed to cross the 100-run mark. The RCB all-rounder said the SRH openers took the game away from them.
"It was an unbelievable partnership. They batted extremely well today. They executed pretty well all their shots. I think they were hitting all the way," he said.
He said they had a few plans up their sleeves but on the field it didn't work out according to the script. "We did have a few plans but we couldn't get them right."
Disappointed with the show, de Grandhomme, however, said they had a few things to take back from the game. "I think we can take a lot of learnings from this game. It has to get better from the next game. Last couple of games we probably haven't executed well with the ball. Today they had a strong beginning and probably we didn't stick to our plans."
RCB have had three different opening pairs and are they still searching for the ideal combination. "I am not the coach and I am not sure about the different areas they are looking at," he added.
