Bravo suffered a hamstring injury during

CSK

’s last game against Mumbai Indians on Wednesday. Dhoni, after the game against Mumbai, hinted at Bravo’s injury when he said, “He (Bravo) has a hamstring problem, so we’ll have to see the combination.”

It is learnt that the 35-year-old West Indies allrounder will undergo scans on Friday to assess the gravity of the injury. “We are keeping a close watch on him. The team arrived on Thursday evening and the availability of Bravo will be decided only after he undergoes scans in Chennai on the eve of the match,” said a source close to the development.

Bravo was off-colour against Mumbai Indians — going for 29 runs in his last over — after giving away just 20 in the his first three. With the bat too, Bravo only managed 8 off 9 deliveries in what was a forgettable outing.

Kuggeleijn sweats it out at optional practice: Scott Kuggeleijn, CSK’s latest overseas recruit, sweated it out during the team’s optional practice session at Chepauk on Thursday evening. The 27-year-old Kiwi allrounder spent a good hour or so hurrying the batsmen with his pace. Kuggeleijn could be one of the options which the defending champions will look to try in the coming matches. CSK are already missing the services of two of their overseas pacers — David Willey and Ngidi Lungi.
