MUMBAI: Former Australian all-rounder
James Hopes has been named as the
Delhi Daredevils
bowling coach. Hopes had played 84 ODIs and 12 T20 Internationals for Australia from 2005 to 2010, apart from representing Queensland for close to 15 years. He is currently the bowling coach of Brisbane Heat in the Big Bash League (BBL).
He has also played in the
IPL for three teams, including for the Delhi Daredevils in 2011. He retired from all forms of cricket in 2016 before moving into a coaching role for both Queensland and Brisbane Heat in the BBL.
The other new addition to the Daredevils' support staff is Subhashish Gosh, who has become the first fielding coach of the IPL side. Gosh, who hails from Assam, is presently the fielding coach of Andhra, and has worked in the National Cricket Academy (NCA) too.

"Once our auction strategy paid off, it was time to also appoint key personnel in the coaching staff. (Head Coach) Ricky (Ponting) has had great inputs in both the selection of players and the support staff. We are absolutely delighted to welcome both James (Hopes) and Subhadeep (Ghosh) into the Daredevils family.
"For James (Hopes) it is a sort of homecoming as he has played for Delhi Daredevils earlier. Now he comes with immense experience both as a cricketer and a coach. He will be a great asset for the squad as we have some excellent young fast bowlers. Subhadeep (Ghosh) has been a specialist fielding coach for close to a decade at various levels in first-class cricket and the NCA. We are certain that he will add a lot of value to the squad," added Dua.
