The RCB team was purchased by Vijay Mallya, who paid US$111.6 million for it, 2nd highest bid after Reliance Industries Ltd. Later the team was bought by Diageo through United Spirits Limited. Siddharth Mallya, Vijay Mallya's son acts as the director of team. Retired Indian cricketer Brijesh Patel, serves as the CEO for the team.
