: Mumbai Indians player and Steel City boy Saurabh Tiwari, who is currently training in Mumbai, expressed his eagerness for the start of the much-awaited Indian Premier League but he would support the Board of Control for Cricket In India’s decision on the rescheduling of the tournament.

“I will go by the decision taken by BCCI in connection with IPL matches,” Tiwari told TOI over the phone from Mumbai. “Though I miss my game and my fans but BCCI can take the right decision in this testing time, where safety and human life are more important than anything.”

He was under a 14-day home quarantine on reaching Mumbai and before he could take to the field. He also said that social distancing was a must on the practice ground under the new protocols.

Tiwari, who spent the entire lockdown in his home here, appreciated the fact that he could spend home with his family and also his favourite food.

“I spent a lot of my quality time with my one-and-a-half-year-old daughter. My sisters were also there at that time so it was great fun in the house and the lockdown just passed off quickly. I really can’t believe it,” he said.

At home, he spent his time indulging in board games with his family. “I played ludo, snakes and ladder with my family members. They proved very exciting when all of us could not step out,” he added.

Another bonus of the lockdown was enjoying his favourite home-cooked food after a long period of time and which his frequent travelling makes him miss out on.

Tiwari advised everyone, especially the youth, to not be complacent and take Covid-19 seriously and impose self restrictions. He also expressed concern over the rising Covid cases in the eastern city.
