Gujarat Titans have appointed former India wicketkeeper-batter
Vijay Dahiya as their new assistant coach ahead of the upcoming season of the
Indian Premier League, further strengthening the franchise’s coaching setup.
A respected name in Indian cricket, Dahiya represented India national cricket team in 19 ODIs and two Tests. He also enjoyed a successful domestic career with Delhi cricket team before moving into coaching.
He later coached Delhi to the Ranji Trophy title in the 2007–08 season and has since built an impressive coaching resume across domestic cricket and the IPL.
Dahiya’s appointment comes shortly after the franchise brought in former Australia batting great Matthew Hayden as batting coach, further strengthening the Titans’ support staff ahead of the new IPL season.
Since their debut in 2022, Gujarat Titans have established themselves as one of the most consistent sides in the league. The team has reached the playoffs in three of its first four seasons and also lifted the title in its inaugural campaign.
With a revamped coaching structure now in place, the former champions will aim to build on their strong record as preparations for IPL 2026 gather pace.
