Chennai Super Kings recorded their biggest home defeat in the Indian Premier League (IPL) against Royal Challengers Bengaluru on Friday. The
50-run margin of defeat is the biggest loss for the five-time champions in their storied IPl history. Their previous biggest home disappointment had come six years ago [in 2019], going down to Mumbai Indians by 46 runs.
It is also CSK's third biggest loss ever - behind a 60-run loss against Mumbai Indians in 2013 and 54-run loss vs Punjab Kings in 2022.

Batting first, RCB scored 196/7 with Rajat Patidar playing a captain's knock of 51 from 32 balls with valuable contributions from Phil Salt (32) and Virat Kohli (31).
