Umesh Yadav (Kolkata Knight Riders)BioUmesh Yadav is the fastest Indian bowler with his top speed being 152.5 kmph. His balls swing both ways and has a pretty effective bouncer. Son of a coal-mine worker, Yadav aimed to join Police force. Yadav turned to cricket as a 19-year-old, an age by which the best young Indian cricketers are in the running for a national cap. He made his first class debut in 2008 for Vidarbha against Madhya Pradesh. Impressed by this performance, Delhi Daredevils bought him in 2008 but his IPL debut came in 2010. He made his One Day International (ODI) debut against Zimbabwe in the same year. The following year, in November, Yadav made his Test debut against the West Indies.A rare pacerUmesh Yadav has shown exemplary fitness, genuine pace, good control and maturity in the 2016-17 season. He managed to play 12 successive Tests and has swung the new ball, and reverse-swung the old even better. Despite bowling 355.5 overs this season, there was hardly any drop in his pace. He regularly touched 140km plus, even in the last innings of the season. Yadav was picked by KKR in 2014 IPL auction and has been retained by the franchise so far.
