After all the fuss around, it's time for the real action to unfold. It's a packed house here at the Wankhede and the crowd is on top of its voice greeting the players as they make their way out to the middle. Mumbai openers are, the big West Indian - Evin Lewis and their skipper Rohit Sharma. This could be a treat to watch it they get going. The latter will be on strike. Rohit Sharma, Mumbai captain says even they wanted to bowl first but isn't disappointed to have a go with the bat. Adds they have played before and have a hang of the conditions on how to bowl in the second half. Reckons it's a fresh wicket and there should be plenty of runs on offer. MS Dhoni, Chennai captain says there is a bit of dew which will come into the picture in the second half and hence the decision. Reckons he's happy to be back in the yellow jersey and has his emotions under control. States the preparations have been good and hopes for a good show. Wood, Tahir, Watson and Bravo are the four overseas players for them, he informs.

Pitch Report - Sunil Gavaskar says there is an even grass covering which will help the seamers move the ball around by pitching it up. He also adds that the ball will come onto the bat nicely and the batters should have a good time. Ends by saying there are loads of runs on offer and he expects a run-feast at the Wankhede tonight.

Talking about the teams now. Both these sides are packed with heavy players with too much of experience. Both of them have provided sheer entertainment in the past and we have witnessed some nail-biting thrillers when these two lock horns. The last time these two faced each other was in the 2015 final where the men from Mumbai were crowned champions. Let's hope that they fight neck and neck tonight and get things rolling with a bang. It's that time of the year again, people! The Indian T20 League is back to beat the Indian summer. The season opener will kickoff at one of the most historic venues - The Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. The defending champs will be up against the men from Chennai who are making a comeback after a 2-year hiatus.
