Nortje in his first over - 0 0 W 2 0 L4
A boundary off the last ball in form of a leg-bye but it was a superb first over from Anrich Nortje. Got the wicket of David Warner and almost got rid of Kane Williamson as well in his first over. Avesh Khan to share the new ball with Nortje from the other end. SRH 6/1 after 1 over.

Tries to work it on the leg side but gets the leading edge. The ball balloons and Axar Patel completes an easy catch at point. SRH 0/1 after 0.3 overs.

We will bat. Looks a good surface, important for us to assess conditions first up and get some runs on the board. It's a chance to regroup and want to put up a much better performance. Holder, Rashid, Warner and myself are the four foreign players.

Toss news!
Sunrisers Hyderabad skipper Kane Williamson wins the toss, opts to bat against Delhi Capitals.
18:55 (IST) Sep 22

It's the same surface that was used for the last game. In the last two games 25 wickets fell for the seamers and 2 to the spinners. DC have two of the premium fast bowlers in the world and the wicket is great. They say the temperature is around 36 degrees, but it feels like 46. Win the toss and bowl.

Nothing much, we know we have nothing to lose, go there, take each game as a final, enjoy yourself, entertain the fans. Good that IPL is back, gives us a chance to test our skills. We need to have self-belief, give our 100% stay positive and that will remove all fears. That's what we discussed in the team meeting, we need to just put in our best effort. I keep it simple, I have my areas to bowl, try and be consistent and I don't put too much of pressure on myself - line and length is the most important thing for me.

Returning Iyer in focus
For Delhi, opener Shikhar Dhawan (380 runs), would be keen to prove the selectors wrong after being axed from India's World T20 squad, while his partner young Prithvi Shaw (308 runs), would also like to get some runs under his belt. Delhi boast of a strong middle-order comprising Shreyas Iyer, skipper Rishabh Pant (213 runs), Australians Steve Smith (104 runs) and Marcus Stoinis (71 runs) and West Indian Shimron Hetmyer (84 runs). Iyer, who is making a comeback after recovering from shoulder injury that he sustained in March, would also be keen to start the tournament well.

A ray of hope in times of crisis!
However, Sunrisers will be hoping to to battle out of this crisis, riding on the shoulders of experienced Australian opener David Warner. The likes of Kane Williamson, Manish Pandey, Wriddhiman Saha, Kedar Jadhav, Abdul Samad will also have to shoulder more responsibility if they are to revive their faltering campaign. Their bowlers, led by spin sensation Rashid Khan, also will have to put up a disciplined show to contain the Delhi batters at the Dubai International Stadium.

No Bairstow; Natarajan, Shankar out because of Covid
Surnisers came into the second leg of IPL 2021 without their leading run-getter Johnny Bairstow, who pulled out of the tournament. The development of pacer T Natarajan testing Covid positive now will be another major blow to the Kane Williamson-led Orange Army. Vijay Shankar, who is also in isolation and will not be available, brings in more trouble for Sunrisers as they fight to put a balanced playing XI in today's game. Currently at the bottom of the table, Sunrisers will definitely struggle to make it to the top four from here.
