Vaibhav Sooryavanshi reveals real reason behind viral 'A' celebration after LSG blitz
Teenage sensation Vaibhav Sooryavanshi has finally revealed the touching meaning behind his now-viral ‘A’ celebration during Rajasthan Royals’s thrilling IPL 2026 clash against Lucknow Super Giants in Jaipur. The 15-year-old prodigy produced another breathtaking innings at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium, smashing a sensational 93 off just 38 balls as Rajasthan Royals chased down a massive 221-run target in only 19.1 overs to keep their playoff hopes alive.
During his explosive knock, Sooryavanshi celebrated his half-century with a unique hand gesture that immediately caught fans’ attention. The RR opener formed an unusual ‘A’-shaped symbol using his fingers, sparking widespread curiosity and speculation across social media.
Interestingly, the youngster initially refused to reveal the meaning behind the celebration during the live post-match broadcast. Former India cricketer and commentator Murali Kartik directly questioned him about the gesture during the presentation ceremony, but Sooryavanshi playfully avoided giving away the secret.
Asked about the celebration after the match, the left-handed batter said: "I don’t know. I just do something new every match. I don’t really plan it. There’s no meaning behind it. Even the celebration I did in the last match had no meaning. I just keep trying new things."
The youngster also said he does not pay attention to outside talk around him. "I don't read any newspapers. This is just the start. If I end up making a long career, people will always speak something about me."
However, the real story surfaced shortly after the match when Rajasthan Royals shared a behind-the-scenes video on their social media platforms. In the clip, Sooryavanshi was seen relaxing and chatting casually with RR team manager Romi Bhinder.
When Bhinder once again asked him about the viral celebration, the youngster finally opened up and revealed the emotional reason behind it. With a smile on his face, Sooryavanshi shared that the gesture was actually a tribute to his mother.
“The celebration is for my mother. Her name starts with the letter ‘A’,” Sooryavanshi revealed.
