Ravi Singh became the latest uncapped player to earn an Indian Premier League debut after
Rajasthan Royals included him in the playing XI against Delhi Capitals at the Arun Jaitley Stadium on Sunday.
The Railways batter, who can also keep wickets, replaced veteran all-rounder
Ravindra Jadeja, who was rested due to workload management. RR captain Riyan Parag confirmed the change during the toss.
“As far as today is concerned, there’s just one change. Jaddu is out because of workload management and all of that, and Ravi Singh comes in for us,” Parag said.
Ravi was bought by Rajasthan Royals for ₹95 lakh during the IPL 2026 auction held in Abu Dhabi, with the franchise backing his explosive domestic T20 form. The right-handed middle-order batter impressed heavily during the 2025-26 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, where he emerged as Railways’ top scorer.
He piled up 218 runs in seven innings at a stunning strike rate of 173.01, showcasing the aggressive finishing ability that caught the attention of IPL scouts. Known for his clean hitting in the middle overs and at the death, Ravi has built a reputation as an attacking batter capable of changing games quickly.
His debut also comes at an important stage of the season for Rajasthan Royals, who remain firmly in the playoff race despite recent struggles.
With RR looking for fresh energy in the batting department, the franchise will hope Ravi Singh can make an immediate impact in one of the biggest opportunities of his career.
