'Forever Grateful': Rishabh Pant’s emotional message after comeback from injury goes viral
Rishabh Pant has opened up about his mindset and the lessons he has learned during his time away from the game, sharing a heartfelt message in a new BCCI video titled “Forever Grateful ft. Rishabh Pant.” Speaking ahead of the upcoming Test series against South Africa, the wicketkeeper-batter reflected on his recovery journey and the importance of gratitude in tough times.
“After an injury, it’s never easy to come back, but God has been kind to me,” Pant said in the video. “Every time I walk onto the field, I look up and thank God, my parents, my family, and everyone who supported me. I focus on what I can control because luck is something you can’t.”

Pant spoke about staying calm and disciplined during his recovery phase. “There are so many things that can affect you, but if your mind is in the right place, you’ll find happiness. When you’re injured, you just have to work hard, stay disciplined, and enjoy what you’re doing. That’s when you truly grow,” he added.
Pant fractured his foot during the Manchester Test against England on July 24 after attempting a reverse sweep. Though scans revealed a fracture, he returned to bat when India needed him most. The injury, however, ruled him out of the remainder of the series.
He made his return to cricket in the two-match unofficial Test series against South Africa A, where he captained the side. Pant scored 90 in the second innings of the first Test to guide India A to a three-wicket win, and followed it up with a fluent 65 in the second match. South Africa A won that game by five wickets, with Dhruv Jurel starring with centuries in both innings.
