India and England locked horns at the iconic Lord's Cricket Ground on Thursday, with England captain Ben Stokes winning the toss and choosing to bat first. This decision brought India's pace ace Jasprit Bumrah immediately into action after he was rested during the second Test.
India made just one change to the playing XI from their thumping 336-run win in Birmingham - their biggest away Test win by runs - bringing back Bumrah in place of Prasidh Krishna. Akash Deep, who stepped in for Bumrah in that game, made headlines with a 10-wicket match haul.
India skipper Shubman Gill, in sublime form with 585 runs in four innings, admitted at the toss, “I was a bit confused this morning but I would've bowled first. The bowlers are feeling pretty confident. I'm feeling great, as a batsman you feel like you'll always be in the middle.”
Stokes, meanwhile, said the team was in good spirits: “The mood's good. It's been a very well-fought two Test matches... everyone's fresh.”
With a Bollywood star cheering them on and momentum on their side, India will look to take the lead in the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy series.
