Suryakumar Yadav hit a quick-fire fifty and skipper Shikhar Dhawan played a crucial 46-run knock at the top as India got to 164 for 5 against Sri Lanka in the first T20I in Colombo. But then, Sanju Samson came in at no.3 and stitched a crucial 51-run partnership with Dhawan to steady the Indian ship. In-form Suryakumar Yadav then came in and once again showcased his wide array of shots all around the ground. Along with Dhawan, Surya added 62 runs for the third wicket as both took control. But Chamika Karunaratne in the 15th over got rid of Dhawan and Suryakumar followed him in the very next over for 50 as India suffered a double setback. Hardik Pandya (10) once again struggled for runs but an unbeaten 14-ball 20 from Ishan Kishan took India past the 160-run mark.

So, Ishan Kishan and Krunal Pandya collect 9 runs in the final over from Chamika Karunaratne as India finish at 164 for 5 in their 20 overs.
