Samson's unbeaten 109 runs came from just 56 balls. His innings included nine sixes and six fours, setting new records in T20I cricket.

Samson became the first batter in T20I history to score three centuries in a calendar year. He is also only the second player after England's Phil Salt to achieve two centuries in a bilateral T20I series.

Samson's century follows his previous score of 107 in the series opener in Durban. This further solidifies his standing as one of India's most exciting T20I players.

This match also marked a historic moment in men's T20I cricket. It was the first time two players from full ICC member teams scored centuries in the same innings.

Samson now holds the record for the third-highest number of T20I centuries (three) by an Indian batter. He surpasses KL Rahul, who has two centuries. Only Rohit Sharma (five) and Suryakumar Yadav (four) have achieved more centuries in this format.

All three of Samson's centuries have come in his last five T20I innings. This highlights his current exceptional form. Interestingly, he had two consecutive ducks (scores of zero) in the second and third T20Is of the series.

Samson's outstanding performance was well-supported by Tilak Varma, who also scored a century. Varma achieved his second consecutive T20I century in this series.
