Day 5 Session 1 in a nutshell!
Shardul Thakur removed Rory Burns (50) but Hasseb Hameed got a life when he was dropped by Mohammed Siraj as England reached 131 for two at lunch on the fifth and final day of the fourth Test against India, at the Oval. England, chasing 368, began at 77 for no loss and kept the India bowlers at bay for almost 45 minutes when Jasprit Bumrah and Umesh Yadav operated in tandem. Bumrah and Yadav kept a nagging middle and leg-stump line but Burns and Hameed (62 batting) negotiated the challenge well, playing mostly with straight bat or flicking those ball on the leg side. The bowling change brought with it the much-needed breakthrough for the visitors as Thakur had Burns caught behind. Hameed comfortably completed his fifty but offered a catch at mid-on off Ravindra Jadeja but Siraj put down the sitter. Hameed was at 55 at that time. Dawid Malan (5) was looking good but got run out while attempting a quick single on Hameed's wrong call. Joe Root (8) then came in and ensured England suffered no further damage before the break.

That's Lunch on Day 5! A good session for India as they get a couple of wickets in form of Rory Burns (50) and Dawid Malan (5). Mohammed Siraj completes the final over before the break. From England's perspective, they too will be okay with their effort even though they are two down. Opener Haseeb Hameed is still out there for them, unbeaten on 62 alongside their in-form skipper Joe Root, who is on 8. England had a solid first hour but they slightly got off-the-track in the final 40 minutes of the session. The break will surely help them gather themselves. India need 8 wickets in the last two sessions. England are 237 runs away from historic victory.
