NEW DELHI: Team India bowlers, especially the quicks, went full throttle in the nets in Melbourne on Saturday in the run-up to the crucial Boxing Day Test.
After the third match in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy ended in a draw, the series is tied at 1-1 and Melbourne game is being dubbed as the series-deciding contest.
Team India had a gruelling session on Saturday and the bowlers were at the centre of it, going up hard against the batters.
Earlier, Ravindra Jadeja addressed the media,emphasizing the importance of India's top-order batsmen contributing runs.
"The top order needs to make runs. If the top order doesn't make runs, then definitely there is pressure on the middle and the lower-order batters. The responsibility also increases. As a team, we need the top order to perform. As a batting unit, if everybody contributes, then the team will do well. We want the entire team to perform," Jadeja told reporters in Melbourne.
On the other hand, Australia have altered its squad for the fourth Test, responding to both Hazlewood's injury and concerns about their top-order batting. Sam Konstas was on Friday added to the squad, replacing Nathan McSweeney.
